End of Life Notice for Shoulder Screw SS-13.2
Issue Date: 2023/10/03
Revised Date: 2024/01/12

We must inform our valued customers that 3M, the manufacture of "Fastener Adhesive SG2451J" used on our SS-13.2 screw, has announced its discontinuation. As announced in the 3M documentation, there will NOT be an opportunity for any final orders, as this material will be discontinued immediately. This is not the standard product discontinuation procedure, so we are unable to follow our typical transition process. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.

For all open orders, we will continue to produce parts without any changes. For any future orders of heat sinks/assemblies incorporating the SS-13.2, we will accept orders based on the inventory we currently have in stock. However, after we exhaust our current inventory, we will switch to an equivalent pre-applied material (ND 1193SO), without further notice.

Please note that if a shoulder screw and spring is used to attach one of our heatsinks, spring tension will be applied to screw’s threads. In this case, fastener adhesive is typically NOT required. (Screws without pre-applied adhesive have passed our shock & vibration testing. For future applications, we kindly request that customers consider transitioning to the new standard screw, SS-13.2-4.2-M3-4.2, which does not use Fastener Adhesive (※There are no changes to the dimensions of the screw itself). For customers who require a screw with pre-applied Fastener Adhesives, please reach out to our sales team for further assistance.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this issue, please do not hesitate to contact our sales team. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your continued support.
